M. Di Paolo Emilio from L’Aquila University will give a seminar
entitled:
V-DAS: A Versatile
Data Acquisition System on bus VME
Abstract
A new versatile
data acquisition system (DAQ) named V-DAS and based on the VME bus is
presented. It has been developed at Laboratori Nazionali di
Frascati and at Laboratori Nazionali
del Gran Sasso. V-DAS has been
originally
developed for the acquisition of data generated by the
gravitational
antennas (Nautilus and Explorer) belonging to the ROG group.
The system is
supported by a text based user interface (TUI) and a graphic
user interface
(GUI), both allowing for an easy management of the DAQ. The
system
architecture relies on a VME crate managed by an Intel-based crate
controller
running the Linux operating system. The software is written
using the C
language.
